As many of you already know, Mallorca is one of the favorite destinations for the couple to celebrate their big day. It is an island full of magical and special places that steal the heart of more than one, and with good reason!
Although it looks like a small island in the Mediterranean, it is much more than that. It is the perfect place to celebrate your wedding because it has a wide variety of landscapes, being able to celebrate from a wedding in front of the sea to a country wedding with incredible views of the Serra de Tramuntana.
Today we want to show you a little more about our wonderful island and some of the most magical corners it has.
Best locations to celebrate your wedding in front of the sea
If you are a couple who loves the sea, the beach, the sand and the sun, Mallorca is undoubtedly your place. Now we will show you some of the many locations to celebrate a wedding facing the sea.
It is a fortification built in 1624 at the end of the old Punta d'Albercutx as a defensive bulwark against the Saracens and North African pirates.
It has an architecture similar to a medieval castle and great nature that, added to the spectacular views of the sea and the coast, being a strategic military point, make up the perfect setting for a wedding.
The property has absolute privacy and can be accessed by land, sea and air. Therefore, it has its own heliport and two private coves. In addition, due to its origin, the house is connected to the local military aerodrome.
Thus, the Fortress covers 87,350 square meters, of which 1,427 are terraces from which we can observe the incredible views of the sea and 1,100 of majestic gardens, with palm, olive and pine trees, while the built land covers approximately 2,000 square meters, distributed between the historic castle that gives it its name and six houses that surround it along with spacious, well-kept terraces, two swimming pools, two coves and a heliport, in a structure reminiscent of a small town in its distribution.
All the buildings have been renovated in the last 15 years and have 17 bedrooms. Regarding capacity, outdoors it is 300 guests and indoors 100.
Cap Rocat is a construction excavated from its bowels of sandstone and, at first, it was thought to be a military fortress. However, it never performed such a role.
Today, it is an architectural complex that houses the Hotel Cap Rocat and is located in the most private area of the bay of Palma.
It is a Protected Natural Area of 30 hectares with 2 km of coastline with crystal clear waters known for its posidonia meadows and its richness in biodiversity. It was declared a National Monument and an Asset of Cultural Interest.
Likewise, Cap Rocat is also a Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA), which allows us to enjoy the spectacle of the flight of a multitude of species over our sky.
The hotel has patios that become gazebos on summer nights, large terraces and an independent area for events that allow you to create thousands of possibilities to organize a dream wedding, with a maximum capacity of 200 guests.
It is a very quiet area as it is far from the town, where clients have private and direct access to the beach, as well as an infinity pool with sea views and the best selection of wines.
Mhares beach club
Mhares is located in the coastal area of Majorca and forms part of the Palma Bay Marine Reserve, created by the Inter-Insular General Council in 1982. In the reserve there are two characteristic ecosystems of the Mediterranean coastal bottoms: Posidonia meadows and the sandy bottoms, with their characteristic fauna.
The hours of sunshine and the fundamental moment in which it sets are the source of life and peace that govern life in Mhares.
Likewise, like Cap Rocat, Mhares is located in a Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA), which is why the daily cycle of the birds that inhabit its environment is respected.
The beauty of the rocks, their abrupt points, and deep holes make it possible for us to glimpse from the highest areas, the infinite tones of the sea that combine harmoniously with the soft earthy nuances of the stone.
Best locations to celebrate your wedding in the mountains
If what you want is to celebrate a wedding with mountain views in Mallorca, we can think of no better option than choosing a rustic finca. If there is something in Mallorca, it is a wide variety of farms for all tastes: some small, others larger, more intimate, with swimming pools, gardens and much more. As an example, these are some of the wonders that this not so small island hides.
La Morneta is located just 20 minutes from the center of Palma and 25 minutes from the airport, in the vicinity of the municipality of Binissalem, a town with a deep-rooted winemaking tradition and 6,000 inhabitants.
It is a Possession in which there are signs of the Talayotic, Roman, Islamic and Aragonese cultures. The architectural vestiges in the Finca buildings could date from the 11th century, the kingdom of Majorca (first Taifa) in the year 1076.
The Finca, from the years after the conquest of Majorca by James I in 1229 and for more than 700 years belonged to the Gual de Torrella family. In 1956 Alfonso Vivo i Triay bought La Morneta as a wedding present for his daughter Leonor Vivó i Squella with Nicolás Morell i Cotoner. Thus, La Moreneta is impregnated with a halo of mystery and legend with almost 1,000 years of tradition on the island of Mallorca and some 3,000 years of history in the land that surrounds it.
Due to its age, it was meticulously renovated respecting the original character and taking care of even the smallest detail between 2008 and 2010.
It is the ideal place for a summer wedding as it is surrounded by a beautiful 2000 square meter outdoor garden that houses a lake and a swimming pool.
The Finca also has several interior spaces: the Tafona, which dates back to 1729, as well as the Celler room, the Pallers room and the Aljub room that can accommodate up to 100 diners in its different functions, cocktail, lunch, dinner or open bar.
Finca Son Termes
Son Termes is located within the municipality of Bunyola and has a privileged location in the Serra de Tramuntana, just ten minutes from Palma.
Its origin dates back to the 13th century and it has incomparable panoramic views of the entire Bay of Palma.
It is a "Possessió", which has managed to adapt to the passage of time, preserving the characteristics of mountain farms, without losing its beauty and natural elegance.
All its rooms are perfectly conditioned, air-conditioned and prepared to make your wedding a unique and special moment. It also has background music and adjustable lighting.
In front of the main façade there is an esplanade that has a spectacular and beautiful view over the plain to the bay of Palma and its patio presided over by a majestic hackberry tree is surrounded by "porxades" that characterize and distinguish it, making it unique.
Its terraces and dream rooms can accommodate from 10 to 1,300 diners. It also has easy access and ample parking.
In the center of the island is Binissatí, an 86-hectare Mallorcan Finca with more than 500 years of history, surrounded by a spectacular holm oak forest that provides complete privacy in a rustic setting.
In Binissatí, agricultural exploitation has always been carried out and an important flock of sheep has been cared for.
The Finca has a variety of spaces that are adapted according to the needs of each couple to host the celebration and are divided into the following:
El Alzinar : is the main forest of Binissatí and the entrance to a magical world. It is a unique space on the island, heritage and history embraced by a forest of ancient holm oaks. A fairytale setting for a wedding.
El Bosque Dulce: there are 313 steps that separate the distance between the house and the Bridal Forest. It is an ideal place for outdoor ceremonies, dream banquets and experiences in nature.
La Clastra Tramuntana: The key words are sunset and aperitif. The clastra is a multifunction space with views of the Serra de Tramuntana. Its interior part has capacity for 120 people. Its outdoor area is the perfect place to set up a tent in case of rain.
El Patio de las Naranjas: The jewel in the crown of Binissatí. A dream for summer nights. The patio allows wide distributions and many possibilities to adapt the banquet to the needs of the couple.
La Clastra Principal: is the space par excellence to hold the party. It is a very versatile space that offers absolute privacy and comfort. It has all kinds of furniture that is included with the open bar service: high tables, chill outs and decoration.
Sa Tafona: is the old oil press built in 1783. This space offers a lot of privacy and warmth. Ideal for intimate indoor ceremonies.
The House: the Binissatí Vell house, formerly the house of Ca L’amo, was built in 1737 and lovingly restored, trying to faithfully respect the original building. It has two single rooms and three double rooms, so it can accommodate up to 8 people.
How to choose the perfect place for your wedding in Mallorca
Finding the venue for your wedding is not an easy task and it is one of the most important factors that will serve as a starting point for organizing the rest of the wedding. In Mallorca there is a wide variety of options to choose from and for all tastes and budgets.
It is important to define the following aspects before starting the search for the place as they will make the task much more enjoyable.
First of all, it is important that you be clear about the type and style of wedding you want and if the ceremony and celebration will take place in the same place.
For example, if you plan to get married in a specific church, it is recommended that you look for a nearby place for the celebration, thus preventing guests from spending a lot of time traveling from one place to another.
On the other hand, if both the ceremony and the celebration are concentrated in one place, this will greatly facilitate the arrival of the guests and all the logistics.
Another fundamental aspect to take into account before starting to look for the place is to know the number of guests that you want to attend your wedding, even if it is approximate, since most places have a capacity minimum and maximum.
In addition, this will allow you to know if the space is large enough so that all the guests can move around without difficulty and that all the providers have the necessary space to offer an impeccable service.
In relation to the number of guests, the accessibility to the place and the distance to hotels and accommodations are also important for them. Speaking of accessibility, you should know if the space has parking and its maximum capacity, as well as if there is the possibility of accessing it by bus and if it is suitable for people with reduced mobility. As for hotels and accommodation, the bride and groom usually stay at the venue, but we must not forget that the guests will also need to stay somewhere.
You should also take into account whether the infrastructure of the venue will allow you to celebrate the wedding as you wish. You must assess its dimensions, the distribution of spaces and all the possibilities to see where you can place the ceremony, if that were the case, the cocktail or the banquet, the party and everything you have planned for your big day.
Lastly, despite the fact that Mallorca has wonderful weather almost all year round, we must not forget that sometimes the weather plays tricks on us and it is important that the space has a plan B in case our celebration is held outside.
